Moonwalkers - feature film by Antoine Bardou-Jacquet (France) -Marijs Boulogne is playing small comical role of La Mommia. She agreed to the director to impersonate the Mommia role herself, and make a comical performance in his movie, with her improvisation skills. She crocheted the Mummy costume used in the movie a few years earlier. This costume was exhibited before in the comix festival in Aix en Provence, and was extensively used by different wrestlers in the cultural wrestling shows, that Marijs organised in Canada, France, Netherlands and Belgium. USA premiere of the film - 14th of March 2015, European premiere took place in September 015. Shooting with Marijs took place on 9th of June 2014 in Brussels. (Film teaser)

Exposition of a growing collection of crocheted genders/nervous systems
Big Smile (performative lecture) - June 2016
This lecture will focus on different sensory motivators in the skin. It will also reveal how to activate the body's own autonomous nervous system and enable the limbic system with its specific creativity function. As limbic signals are responsible for musicality, language, words or any spontaneous expression of the face, hands or voice, its underlying system needs to be activated in a good and decent way.
Women artists can share life mysteries through colors and textures, sounds and dancing or just by staying quiet. They can be big, (un)recognized artists, unknowing how to say what they are. Yet, the question ‘Who are you’ only seems to be thoroughly answered by the gendered male with pelvic nerves that have never been disturbed by, for instance, giving birth. For the wide spectrum of artists from self-assigned genders and especially for those who had their pelvic nerves destroyed or cruelly altered as in genital mutilation, the question ‘Who are you and what do you feel’ is a challenge and confrontation at the same time. This lecture connects different sports of the ladder of consciousness, and will finally leave it to the command of the autonomous nervous system itself.

Workplace of the Orgasm (W.o.t.O.) / (Werkplaats van het orgasme) - Public crochet workshop & the performance, 2015-2019
A public crochet workshop about the autonomous nervous system entitled 'Workplace of the Orgasm' was first time presented between 6th and 12 October 2015 in De Warande ground floor. Workshop was concieved and conducted by Marijs Boulogne in collaboration with Wilfrieda Stroobants and Ester Joris. After sucesfull workshop, the performance with the same title took place at the opening of the theatre season in the library of the Cultural Center De Warande. The show was presetned on 12 September in the frame work of the event Le Village des Rêves Perdus (Theater Froefroe).

A mute comedy of the body that mocks the rigidity of social roles, human self-sufficiency, pretension. Performativity of the body in the gaps between silence and sound, shyness and excess, commonness and bizarre humour. Travesty of body and spirit as a sociopolitical liberation. Technoburlesque is an intersection of (programme/cybernetic) code and subjectivity; a laying bare of the physical and emotional body indivisibly bound up with the information matrix of contemporaneity. A Midsummer Night's Dream - American University of Kosovo, Prishtina, Kosovo, 2013
On 17 and 18 May, 2013, A.U.K.'s Theater Class had the pleasure to perform Shakespeare's most popular comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in front of a large audience at the Amphitheater of ASK (American School of Kosovo). The play, directed by Marijs Boulogne, was performed by 35 students on stage and 10 students behind the scene. "A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” William Shakespeare's most popular comedy it portrays the adventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur actors, their interactions with woodland fairies and a duke and duchess. Taking place in a mythical Athens and an enchanted forest, there is a handsome fairy king, a misguided parent, star-crossed lovers, a weaver who's transformed into a half-donkey, wood sprites and elves.
Students of economics, management, public policy, media, or IT, have probably not imagined themselves performing a theater play. However, the theater class gave students an opportunity to experience something different along with learning statistics, laws, numbers, or programming. It helped students to become more conscious of their bodies and language. It taught them the techniques that make one feel more comfortable and courageous while talking in front of people. But, not just that. The play as well improved students’ organizational skills since they had to take care of every detail while organizing the play. Students took care of finding the sponsors, the clothes, the place, and all other details necessary for a great theater play. The fun times they spent rehearsing the phrases over and over again would probably remain in their memories as great times of their student lives. 
SWELF /The Origin of things (T.O.o.T) / 11000 Virgins - 2012-2019, crochet sculpture
This Sculpture has many faces and can transform into multiple shapes, inspired by the Saint Ursula celebrations of Hildegard Von Bingen, and is made as a tribute to all victims and survivors of male coercion. The sculpture was created to be a mobile and dynamic and a female omni potent presence. Dreaming of big sculptures as part of a playground for adults, like a circus on the inside of a giant crocheted female body, this would be the central meeting point. Thanks to Henk Vandecaveye's technical genius for the cutting, Bembo Davies for the support, and the amazing hands of Laura Verlinden, movie actress and Eva Weerts, internship, I was able in August 2011 at the big studio of the RITS School to swiftly start to transform kilometres of material, kindly donated by the Bekaert textiles International Group, into an crochet, into an assemblage of a 5-meter-tall multi-faced sculpture. This huge body of the clitoris together with the vulva was featured for the first time in March 2012 in The Grand Opening in Norway (with Joris Vercammen, Laura Verlinden, Bembo Davies), and in June 2012 as installation at the 38th Nordic Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Bergen, Norway. Later, the embroidery was animated by Hungarian-Romanian puppeteers Iza and Mircea Moss for the contemporary music theatre project Who Wants to be Holy? in deSingel in Antwerp, where it interacted with live compositions by the young guitarist Joris Vercammen. During the last years, the sculpture is exhibited under a new name The Swelf.

re.act.feminism #2 - a performing archive is a continually expanding, temporary and living performance archive travelling through six European countries from 2011 to 2013.
It presents feminist, gendercritical and queer performance art by over 120 artists and artist collectives from the 1960s to the beginning of the 1980s, as well as contemporary positions. The research focus is on Eastern and Western Europe, the Mediterranean and Middle East, the US and several countries in Latin America. On its route through Europe this temporary archive will continue to expand through local research and cooperation with art academies and universities. It will also be ‘animated’ through exhibitions, screenings, performances and discussions along the way, which will continuously contribute to the archive.

My Wife is Missing (site specific live art performance, embroidery) - National Women’s Day, Brussels, Belgium, 2008
The huge puppet for My Wife is Missing was made with the help of my puppeteer sister Lize Verlooy and a wonderful friend Sarah Benn, our local 'bad girls club'. We made a soft sculpture of a floating woman after being in the water for 9 days, we used very simple, cheap materials like coloured wool and waterproof glue, old panties and a cheap blow up sea fun mattresses.
In only 5 days the figure was created, we were working day and night. On the 8th of March 2008, to celebrate Women’s day, she was thrown in the water by her husband Mr. Boulogne and reportedly went missing. According to witnesses, what happened was that she was so light and floatable, that she sailed off too quick to be found again, after the witnesses were distracted by a wild parade of Mr. Boulogne and 26 Brussels riot girls through the streets of Brussels, paying for second hand books with menstrual blood, and changing street names until they reached the 'Dolle Mol', the crazy mole, an anarchist bar in the centre of Brussels where the party continued but ended very badly as the promised revolution did not happen.Presented in the scope of the National Women’s Day, Brussels, Belgium, 2008

Two burlesque evenings with music, cabaret, stand-up, show time, party and performance. An ecstatic series of acts of domestic and international ladies took place in Nieuwpoorttheater, a grand Dionysian prom. For Ladies, burning witches that do not burn itself, meno activists, young mothers without their babies, presidents, xx'en (and all variations).
Including LES REINES PROCHAINES - the best and most mature Swiss girls of pleasure while in the present already queens of Switzerland / JESS Dobkin - the queer queen of Canada sharpens pencils with her vagina / BRASS (UK/GHENT) - plays to the public with new toys / INGE DE WAARD - stand up / CISKA VAN IMSCHOOT - stand up (B/UK), WORD (B/UK) / MAJA BOHAR (SL) undresses completely behind an embroidery / JOKE VAN LEEUWEN gives us good hope and / MARIJS BOULOGNE still trying the best to get her rotten accordion. / 
Orgasmic Faces (Video installation) - Porn ar(t)ound the world Festival, Kc nOna, 2002; STUK Leuven, Belgium, 2005
Orgasmic Faces is a video wall with four screens, each of them showing close-ups of people having orgasms. They present us with what is the utmost intimate in their beings. It is a story of fuddling and its aftermath, about the facial expression of death, about disappearing inside and reappearing again, a search for different forms of conscience and presence. The images are sonically supported by about two hundred snails, which come out of their shells after the drought and producing highly explosive sounds.
This video installation was created for the festival Porn Ar(t)ound the World at the art center nOna in November 2003, whereupon it has been shown at the art center Kunstencentrum STUK during the festival Tijdelijk Autonome Zone in March 2003.

In the scope of work at the Brussels Kunstenfestivaldesarts in 2003, where Endless Medication was presented, Marijs Boulogne was invited by the Dutch performance curator Mark Timmer to join a one week workshop with a round table, lectures and actions, with a live cook and 2 meals a day around a moving table, where she met Ragna Aurich, a young director who just finished her Masters.
A performance with the dog was performed where 7 dog people copied the dog like slaves, the action lasted for 8 minutes, until the 'moderator' of the round table was attacked by the dog and his favourite shirt was ripped to pieces by the beast (everything was captured on video and hilarious, but the footage disappeared along with the moderator). Later that week, Marijs repaired the shirt and embroidered the words THAT DOG IS A GOD onto the back, where the bites were most visible …Presented at the Theater Gasthuis, Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2003.

After graduating at the RITS (Brussels), Marijs Boulogne continued an additional year of studies in open workshop, new media, installation, and interdisciplinary work. She supported her thesis with the installation Fuck Me Dead, which addresses the themes of self-sacrifice and ecstasy using performance, video and embroidery.
The embroidered dress, which was a part of the installation, was made as a tribute to Jozef van den Berg, a Dutch master puppeteer who retired early as an artist, after a fruitful and magnificent career performing on stages all over the lowlands and on different television channels.
"He was my theater hero but I had the feeling that he stopped playing and retired because of a personal confrontation with death. So as an instinctive reaction, I made a dress for a baby who could not live as a tribute to the perfect imperfection, and also in case if I had a baby that would not live, what would I do then? The embroidery on the dress is inspired by an Australian landscape with traditional wood fires and blackened trees that keep on sprouting greens during the process, with birds and their eggs cooked. The story - in a small booklet - is part of the installation Fuck me dead which also features the dress, the video of my puppeteer performance filmed by Julia Clever, and macroscopic photo slides of the embroidery by Ludo Engels." The multimedia installation Fuck Me Dead is a report on Marijs Boulogne’s investigation into ecstasy. It is a chaotic perception of reality, in which the boundaries between the self and the world are faded. In an antechamber, a captivating video shows ecstasy from a specific and surprising point of view: the soil, a puppet, fish, seashells and bones, they all play a part in the play of life and death, steered from above by the hand of the invisible creator. Next, the visitor enters a darkened room to find a glass case housing a doll dress exhibiting the result of ecstasy: the intensive embroideries the dress is covered with are really scars. In front of the glass case, a slide show presents the visitor with macro-photographic takes of the embroideries.
The embroidery is the fruit of obsessional activity. Marijs Boulogne had embroided one pattern on top of the other, sometimes stitching for more than seventeen hours a day, searching for the ecstatic experience. This search was not based on a plan or directed towards a goal; it was only guided by the alertness that the dress should not become an esthetic object. The work itself manifested itself as an ersatz for taking drugs or making love; a vehicle for finding ecstasy. The actual experience and the metaphor have become one. The needle pricks, hurts, sews, overgrows, penetrates, impregnates.
The slides bring the standstill into motion by illuminating the embroideries from different angles. As such, an image of the world of ecstasy and hallucination is represented. The soundscape consists of a macro-audio recording of the broidery, the pricking of the needle and the threading of the wire. All elements shown in the video are based on the experience of the handicraft of embroidery in a reversed mythological circle of death, birth and re-death. Death is perceived as the ultimate ecstasy.
Central to Fuck Me Dead, which is the result of living intensively on physical and psychical boundaries, is the theme of Eros and Thanatos.

We Are Not Whores (Live art performance), Factor 44, Antwerp, Belgium, 2002
Musician and performer Rose Turtle Ertler curated summer evenings in factor 44 and for her, Mirabelle Wouters (from the Australian dance company Branch Nebula) and Marijs Boulogne created the performance We are not whores in a secluded, small, inner garden behind 3 glass walls. 2 ladies knit and embroider, there are red lights and swimming suits and an embroidered note that says NO SEX TODAY. During 4 hours without a break, via intercom they communicate with the audience they are philosophying about life and analysing of everything through the vocabulary of threads and needles. When they have a good one-liner, they write it down on the thick glass that separates them from the audience with lipstick. On the inside, in the exhibition space itself, a note says: Nancy and Peggy made their hobbies into their profession.

The highpoint of this closing event was the performance by Mirabelle Wouters and Marijs Boulogne, "We're not whores..." The event covered a whole evening where the two women sat stitching a banner, in a courtyard garden with a window for the audience, or that's at least how it started.Given the heat and apparent seclusion they removed more and more clothes, until the spectacle of window prostitution was raised… This aspect and barely perceptable change was suprising, possibly because it happened so slowly, but also little, well chosen actions changed the whole image… Taking a white shirt off on a hot summer evening, is not a reason for voyeurism, and again the whole scene changed little by little until it seemed a couple of cheap sluts were annoyed and waiting for clients… Or is this just happening in the head of the spectator? By presenting themselves in this way, they gradually attracted the more complicated questions from the audience.The only communication with the audience was an intercom, what was said depended on the particular spectator.
Final clarity came only at the end of performance when an embroidered banner was more or less finished, and appeared next to a painting of a nude , saying 'We're no whores'; then the girls climbed up a ladder to the apartment above. Communication with the audience had been via the intercom, apart of that there was no direct contact with the audience, and this gave to the performance its voyeuristic tension and left the audience behind with their own wondering thoughts. This strong finale of the summer series was framed by the presentation of some videos of Marijs Boulogne, piece by piece strong questions about the role of women in society and cultural production. Extrapolation from these sketches could reflect Marijs's true thoughts but on the other hand there may be more to come.

Marijs Boulogne and Eva Schram opened and sang in the first week of the radio programme on FM Brussels. Alternating with Ludo Engels, Marijs worked on Van aangezicht tot aangezicht during the first exciting year, in the art of radiomaking with guests like Mc Speedy, dd De Meuter and with people hanging around in the studio.
After a year, Manah Depauw became the favourite studio guest together with the Australian composer of spontaneous contemporary music Jim Denley. Each Sunday afternoon they improvised erotic-psychological horror fairytales, which bend the rules of language and narrative structure.
A live improvisation session was performed before a live audience at the Porn-Ar(t)ound the World Festival at the art center nOna and at Visite at the art Kunstencentrum Tor in Belgium..
In September 2003 a sequel to Van aangezicht tot aangezicht was broadcast by the Flemish radio station Radio Klara. Under the title Mond op mond (Mouth to Mouth) five improvisation sessions were presented by Marijs Boulogne, Manah Depauw and Jim Denley in the Mixtuur (Mixture) programme.
